We went for a walk along the water front on boxing day and it was a lovely crisp late afternoon. There was a stunning sky and lots of people around. Couldn't resist taking a camera and flash for a few quick portraits......

Attitude winter shoot......

Last week saw photographer Ian MacMichael shooting some winter collection images for Attitude Mens Style Salon and Traditions barbers. . It was really cold at Liverpool's Albert Dock, but we managed to get some great shots. The models Tom and Glen did well braving the cold and the wind. There were plenty of passers by but we managed to get the job done without getting hassle from anyone or any authorities! Here a few images from the shoot, some of which will be used by Attitude and Traditions as part of their Christmas marketing and also on their websites......

American Crew Face Off 2011, photos and video.

It was a great night at the 2011 American Crew Face Off competition a couple of weeks ago. Photographer Ian MacMichael went along as a guest of Attitude Mens Style Salon. The catwalk show of all the new styles was really fantastic, with the opening segment, "The Thomas Crew Affair, designed by Ian from Attitude.

CMN Family Day, Lverpool, 2011.

Last weekend, we had the privilege of photographing some of the children and families at the Caring Matters Now family day in Liverpool. The day was organised by our good friend Jodi. Jodi started Caring Matters now in 1998 to support fellow suffers of the rare disease Congenital Melanocytic Naevus. It was a great day with lots of fun and news on how the support groups fundraising activities are supporting the medial research into CMN. A team recently scaled Mount Kilimanjaro and raised an amazing £74,000! We also took some portraits of the children, and we had a good laugh. Some of them actually took the camera off me to shoot portraits themselves!

West Tower bridal fayre

This weekend, we will one of the key exhibitors at the West Tower's exclusive bridal fayre. Unlike other wedding/ bridal fayres, the West Tower one is only for their recommended suppliers and is at the venue. This means couples who have booked their wedding there or who are interested in doing so, get to see the venue and meet the preferred suppliers. Last year was very busy and very productive for us so we hope this year will be the same.

Just recently, we had a really great meeting with Chris and his finace Sam. He got in touch to say

Thanks for the meeting on Saturday, it was really good to meet you, chat ideas through with you and see what you do.

 We have discussed everything with Sam's parents, who seemed very happy, so am pleased to say we would like to go ahead and book you as the photographer for our wedding!

They got our details through the WPJA website as they had a clear idea of the style and quality of photography and service they were after. We're delighted they have chosen us........think it also helped that we supported the right football team too...!!

A very happy couple....

We received a lovely email from one of our happy couples whose wedding we shot earlier this year. Claire got in touch and said....

"Ian and Hazel, what can we say? Mark and I settled ourselves down last night to look at the photos and by the time we got to the end we had laughed and cried and reminisced our way through the stunning collection of pictures, reliving the story of our amazing day. There is one in particular of us in the church, at the altar and the expression on my dad's face made me burst into tears straight away. Its so full of emotion, so well-captured. And the black and white one of Mark and I in the back of the car - we look flawless! The ones in the bedroom at West Tower worked really well too. How we are going to narrow them down for our album, we don't know, but its going to be a pleasure doing so!

We're over the moon with them and thank you wholeheartedly."

These emails mean such a lot and we're pleased to have had several this year.....

Inspired, by Jodi.....

Last week, it was a great pleasure to take some photographs of a great friend of ours, Jodi. She was addressing her old school during their prize-giving at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The stunning backdrop of the Cathedral echoed the inspiring talk Jodi gave. She shared the journey she has been on through her life, coping with a form of skin cancer called congenital melanocytic naevi. . She has been through numerous operations and set up a support group called Caring Matters Now. 
The whole assembly of around 1000 people was absorbed by her story.  Jodi has kindly allowed some pictures to be shown here. Please visit her support group's web site......

Welcome to new commercial client Hampton by Hilton Hotel Birmingham

We are pleased to showcase some work shot this week for Hampton by Hilton Hotel Birmingham. This shoot comes after recent work for Hotel Indigo Birmingham and Holiday Inn Express Hoylake. We are hoping to continue to shoot these sample rooms and to show the feel of each unique brand.

Welcome to new 2013 wedding clients Louise and Matt

We are also delighted this week to welcome Louise and Matt as 2013 wedding clients. We met up a couple of weeks ago and found that our style of photography and unobtrusive approach was exactly what they were looking for. Louise had done lots of research and had lots of really great questions.We all go on really well and had a good laugh when we met. As they had already seen a few photographers, it was great that they chose us to be part of their special day.

American Crew Face Off finalists 2011...

We are thrilled to announce that Attitude Mens Style Salon and Ian MacMichael photography have again been selected among the 100 finalists in the American Crew Face Off competition. Face Off is both a hair style and photographic competition that runs every year. We had a brilliant night shooting the images and the pictures can now be shown. The 20 winners from the one hundred finalists will be announced at the finalists party in Manchester next weekend. Hopefully, we can recreate the result a couple of years ago and be among these 20. Best wishes to the lads, whatever happens, it was a great shoot and it will be a great party too!!

Welcome to new wedding clients Claire and Andrew...

This week, we are also delighted to welcome Claire and Andrew as wedding clients for 2012. They have been at several of the weddings we have shot this year and last and we have been recommended to them by those couples! It's always great to hear of these recommendations and we look forward to their special day.......

Elaine and Jack's wedding....

We had a really great day with Jack and Elaine a couple of weeks ago at their wedding. It was especially nice as it was a chance for us to revisit the church we were married in 18 years ago! It was a great service and we again managed to avoid getting wet, even though there was a bit of rain on the day. We hope you like some of our favourites from the day.......
