Airborn Academy shoot and video...

Last week, we hooked up with a few of the team from Liverpool's own Airborn Academy. We had planned this shoot a few weeks ago and it was good to finally get together and make it happen. We had arranged to do the shoot at the plaza in front of the Liver buildings...it was a busy afternoon and really drew a crowd of people to watch and even a couple of other photographers wanted to know what we were up to.

We used a Nikon D3s along with the Flex system from Pocket Wizard to trigger the Elinchrom Ranger with the A head. On a few of the shots, we needed some more light so added in a speed-light, also triggered by the Flex TT5.

I really wanted to be able to use a fast shutter speed to freeze the action, but was concerned about whether High Speed Sync would work along with my Elinchrom Ranger Quadra lights...well I needn't have worried because I was shooting at up to 1/1000th of a second at around f5, ISO 100 and the High Speed Sync worked a treat, even weith the faster flash duration of the A head...
