Phil and Hayley's pre wedding shoot

Follow Me on Pinterest
We spent an hour or so with Phil and Hayley at Formby Hall last weekend, shooting their pre wedding images. They had booked us to cover their wedding over 18 months ago through the WPJA as I remember. The time has certainly flown by for us and them as their big day is now only just over a week away! We had a good laugh on the shoot, even though we were given some abuse by one of the golfers...not sure he was convinced on a photo shoot taking place anywhere on his beloved course! We were worried about the weather as it rained all morning and for most of the journey. However, when we arrived, it was very sunny, the type of light you often hear photographers complaining about. We try to embrace it and work with it to produce our images, and we're happy to show some images and a video of them here.....

Image of the week, 2012, number 16.....

Well, the giants came,. we saw and were impressed! A couple of things struck me about it all....one was that the crowds were enormous and the atmosphere was great and the other was the feat it was to go from imagining this story and then bringing it to life in the way the artist did! It was an staggering effort both artistically and in engineering and mechanical terms! It also required huge effort on behalf of the men and women who were operating the puppets......
I, for one, am delighted that Liverpool was able to embrace a work like this, long may we be a city willing to embrace art and make it accessible to everyone.....

Ged and Julie's West Tower wedding....

Follow Me on Pinterest
It was a first for us last week as we photographed a wedding without actually meeting the couple before their wedding! We had corresponded over email and text and met up with Ged and Julie on the day of their wedding!  They were a lovely couple and had a lovely intimate day with their close family and friends. We were only with them for a few hours but, never the less, had a great time and got some stunning images! Here is a small collection of a few favourites from their day.....

Commercial portrait shoot for attitude mens hair....

Follow Me on Pinterest
We were asked today if we could do a quick portrait shoot for Ian at attitude mens hair. He needed an image to go with an article he has just written for a magazine and they asked if he had an image to go with it. He didn't, so he managed to get hold of Glen, who we've worked with before. Ian cut and styled his hair and he came round for 10 mins and we shot some frames, including the one to go in the magazine. It's the first in this little collection.....

We had a wonderful day with Claire and Andrew last weekend, with the famous weather being very cooperative! Lots of photographers will mention the difficulties of shooting under different conditions like bright, direct sunlight, or the rain and cloud or even the darkness inside churches and reception venues. We try to not let these varying conditions affect our shooting. The weather is something we can not control and we always encourage our couples to try not to stress about the weather. Generally, the only predictable thing about it is that it's unpredictable! Wedding photography is not about the weather, or the venue or great backgrounds, but about people. Families and friends coming together to share in the happiest day of 2 people's lives. What we strive to capture are the intimate moments, full of emotion, conveying the true feeling of the day.
There was a genuinely great feeling and atmosphere on Claire and Andrew's day and we believe that comes across in so may of their pictures. We are very proud to show a small selection here on the blog as a taster of the entire collection . Thanks go to Kip and all at St Peter's in Woolton, who were very helpful, especially after some recent bad experiences with photographers, and also to the staff at The Atlantic Tower Thistle Hotel in Liverpool city centre who did all they could to help us out.

Enjoy......
